Working on a very tight budget and within Permitted Development Rights, studio octopi worked closely with the client to realise this small extension and kitchen refurbishment.

Located in central London, this narrow house and garden are overlooked on all sides. Working to maximise space and natural light, glazed oak framed doors look onto a white concrete patio garden. Stainless steel panels form the end wall of the garden create a subtle play of light, offering enticing reflections of the extension from the other rooms of the house.

Internally, alongside the new long oak framed window and within the extension’s rooflight, concealed fluorescents mimic the daylighting, washing walls and ceilings with a soft light.
