The client's brief was for a new master bedroom, shower room and stair to the loft of their three bedroom Victorian terraced house. studio octopi proposed a sculptured, open stair allowing light to filter down into the property and a master bedroom that opened itself up to the views.

The new stair was designed as two ribbons, constructed from Finnish Birch plywood, defining and following the movement of the stair. A glass balustrade allows light to filter down into the property from the rooflight located directly over the stair.
